COLEMAN ELEMENTARY HOME/SCHOOL COMPACT
Your child receives high-quality content and instruction which will be provided in a supportive, safe and effective learning environment in order for him/her to meet Texas’s student academic achievement standards and strive to be a life-long learner:
Teachers in Math use Motivation Math, Go Math!, Mentoring Minds, Math STAAR, ThinkThroughMath, Reflex, Sumdog Teachers in Reading use Reading Street, Reading Plus, Istation, Accelerated Reader, Novels,Spelling City, Saxon Phonics, Phonics Dance, FLocabulary, Scholastic News, Storyworks Technology- numerous types of technology is used throughout the year for instruction and practice, such as Promethean Boards (interactive white boards), laptops, websites (i.e., BrainPop, BrainPop Jr., Istation, Lexia, Reflex, Reading Plus, ThinkThroughMath, Spelling City, Sumdog, Gizmos, Encyclopedia Britannica Online) software, document cameras, projectors, iPads, student response systems, Mimeo screens, iPad table, digital cameras, and video cameras. All subject areas are based on Texas Resource System.
Parent-Teacher conferences are held regularly and this compact will be discussed as it relates to YOUR CHILD’S academic achievement:
Parent-Teacher conferences are typically help before and/or after school. Parents and teachers may also meet during a teacher’s planning period if arrangements are made ahead of time. • To request a parent-teacher conference, simply write a note in your child’s Bluecat folder, email your child’s teacher, or call the office and leave a message for your child’s teacher. • Please call 325-625-3546 and make an appointment if you wish to see the Principal or Counselor.
Frequent reports on YOUR CHILD’S progress will be provided to you:
6 Week Report Cards and 3 Week Progress Reports Ongoing Assessments/Target Sheets: beginning, middle, and end of the year STAAR Assessment for 3rd and 4th Grade
You are welcomed as a volunteer in the school:
We realize that you are in your child’s education. You are welcome to visit the school any time, but please prearrange your visit with the classroom teacher. If you would like to volunteer on field trips, field day, or any other school even please contact the school.
I understand the importance of the school experience to every child and my role as a teacher and model. Therefore, I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
1. Teach necessary concepts to your child.
2. Try to be aware of the needs of your child.
3. Regularly communicate with you on your child’s progress.

2. Return graded work to my parent/caregiver.
3. Be at school on time unless I am sick.

5. Pay attention and do my work to the best of my ability.

1. Go over my child’s assignments with him/her.
2. Give my child a quiet place to study. Help my child review for tests.
3. Make sure my child gets enough sleep each night.
4. Make sure my child is at school on time each day.
5. Spend at least 15 minutes each day reading with my child.
6. Attend parent conferences.
