    Robert Mann
    ROBERT MANN, 2024 Recipient
    Robert Mann graduated Coleman High School in 1963. Bob grew up in Coleman and was an avid Boy Scout. He received his Eagle Scout in 1962 and continued his involvement with the scouts into adulthood. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Following graduation from the University of Texas, Bob was employed by Radian Corporation working on industrial environmental analysis and later worked for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality writing air pollution permits. Bob has worked with the CHS Alumni Association for the past 12 years organizing the Annual Alumni Golf Tournament. The funds raised by the tournament has provided scholarships totaling $91,000 for the benefit of CHS students.

    Juanita Scott
    JUANITA BLANTON SCOTT, 2024 Recipient
    Juanita Blanton Scott was a revered teacher at Coleman High School. Mrs. Blanton taught Chemistry and Biology at CHS from 1945 until her retirement in 1972. She received her B.S. and M.A. from Hardin Simmons University. She was awarded a scholarship by Humble Oil and Refining Co. for a summer of study at the University of Texas in Austin. While at Coleman High School, she and one of her students attended the National Science Fair in Flint, Michigan. She served as president of the Science Teachers Association of Texas in 1956-1957 and was selected as Coleman High School Teacher of the Year in 1967. She was active in many organizations on the local, state and national level.

    Randy Turner
    RANDY TURNER, 2024 Recipient
    Randy Turner is a 1982 Coleman High School graduate. Randy’s passion for broadcasting began in high school when he took a job at KSTA Radio his freshman year. Randy spent two years broadcasting at KSTB Radio in Breckenridge, then returned to KSTA in Coleman where he was on the air through 1999. He joined KTAB TV in Abilene where he began as weekend news anchor and worked his way up to become chief meteorologist and news anchor.  Randy’s interest in weather led him to obtain a Broadcast Meteorology Degree from Mississippi State University. Randy recently broadcasted with KOXE Radio in Brownwood and is co-owner of the online news website ColemanToday. Randy lends his talent to broadcasting sporting events as well as being Master of Ceremonies for numerous events in the Big Country.

    Bob Tyson
    ROBERT TYSON, 2024 Recipient
    Robert Tyson graduated Coleman High School in 1959.  Bob was an avid Boy Scout, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in 1958. Bob graduated the University of Texas School of Pharmacy in 1964. He was a member of the Army ROTC and attained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Bob returned to Coleman in 1967 and worked at Brink’s Pharmacy. In 1979, he and his wife, Jo, purchased the store and it eventually became Tyson Pharmacy. Bob retired in 2017 after serving the Coleman community as a pharmacist for over 50 years. He was an active member in regional, state and national pharmacy associations. Bob was the pharmacy consultant for Holiday Hill Nursing Home for over 25 years. Bob was also involved in the Coleman community having served on the Coleman Development Board, Coleman Housing Authority, Coleman Chamber of Commerce and the Coleman ISD Board of Trustees.

    David Williams
    BRIG. GEN. DAVID H. WILLIAMS, JR., 2024 Recipient
    David H. Williams, Jr. graduated Coleman High School in 1952. He attended the University of Texas receiving his B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1957. David entered the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and received his pilot wings in 1959. David was a command pilot and has flown the A-10, F-4, F-16, F-100, F-104 and numerous other aircraft. He flew missions all over the world. In 1982, David was promoted to Brigadier General. His military decorations and awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with two oak leaf clusters, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters and Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster. General Williams retired in April, 1986, after 28 years in the United States Air Force. In 2002, David volunteered to co-chair the 50th anniversary reunion for the CHS Class of 1952. His class initiated the first CHS Annual Reunion Golf Tournament which has continued to provide substantial scholarships for CHS students.
